The Minnesota-raised, Nashville-based songwriter has always felt like she was searching for herself, trying on various versions but never really feeling the euphoric ease that comes with finding comfort in one’s own skin.Through experimentation in spirituality and empowerment, devoting time and energy into her craft and learning to lean into a playful, carefree outlook, Wedl is experiencing the delicious life moments with a renewed clarity. On her self-titled album––and debut for ANTI––she shakes off the prying eyes of expectation, leaving behind the anxiety of forming yourself for others and welcoming in the delight of finally being exactly who you are.Wedl is already a prolific artist, releasing solo music since 2012, and co-founding the queercore outfit Dazey & The Scouts in 2015. The band, she says, taught her about “complete vulnerability and collaboration,” and their surprise viral success on social media fuelled the next stepping stone in Wedl’s career.“It’s shown me the humanity that live music can create,” she says of theunexpected attention on the band.“It’s taught me so much about songwriting as collective care.”After a string of solo singles in 2024, Wedl’s latest LP gathers those foundation-cracking moments that make up a life, and sees her fully immersed in the lessons they create. There’s a coffee-ringed, neon-hue to Wedl’s songs; blurred faces past foggy windows that add to the anonymity of a new city where an array of outcomes await. After touring and moving around the country for the better part of a decade, Wedl likens home to her favorite snacks, a long phone call with a friend or the hum of a beloved song on an Uber driver’s radio. She grew up in a religious household, and fondly remembers visiting her elderly aunts at their convent.Spirituality still plays a huge part in Wedl’s version of home, but it’s a broader scope than a bearded guy in the clouds; after getting sober, she found herself drawn to meditation, morning pages and the compass of intuition. Now, Wedl looks to her “network in the sky” to notice the patterns in the universe pointing out the next steps.Wedl enlisted Katie Crutchfield (Waxahatchee) and Brad Cook (Bon Iver, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Mavis Staples) to co-produce and play on the album, with instrumentalists Colin Croom, Lindsey Jordan and Matt McCaughan also sprinkled throughout. Together, they formed a middle ground between punk, grunge and Americana––‘grungetry’ as they affectionately callit––capturing all tracks within a 10 day stay at Cook’s studio in Durham, NC. With Cook’s beloved dog Remy witnessing from afar, Wedl’s songs were recorded live as a band, soaking up the collective energy and shaking off any kind of preciousness about the outcome. It’s a county fair carousel, housing a God-fearing Midwestern teenager; a sharp-tongued DIY punk rocker; a heartbroken, dejected road dog and the newcomer at the Nashville honky-tonk.“

Starting the band as teenagers, they’ve written a collection of punchy and melodic tracks depicting the relatable and earnest parts of growing up, from 711 Nachos to ordeals with local creeps. Inspired by L7, The Dead Milkmen, Bikini Kill, and many other hard-hitting icons, Froggy delivers a powerful kick of youthful humor, grunge, and classic punk. PLEASURE DEATH Hailing from New York City, PLEASURE DEATH, is a queer heavy grunge duo harnessing power, revenge, and all consuming desire. Informed by RiotGrrrl ethos, their songs exorcise repressed rage born of r*pe culture and queerphobia, with a heavy dose of distortion. Live shows are an invitation to step into your shadow and purge whatever's killing your pleasure. Their 2000 sophomore album Dead Reckoning earned international acclaim and a 5-star review from Kerrang, who praised its "unrivaled depth of emotion." The band toured relentlessly, sharing stages with Hot Water Music, Cursive, Sparta, Cave In, and many others. In 2003, they released The River Bed on Lookout! Records before breaking up later that year. They reunited in 2006 and officially returned in 2009, recording their fourth album Fell & Found in 2011 with producer J Robbins. AV Club praised them as "one of the best purveyors of this sound." The band continued to play shows and festivals through 2016, eventually going on an indefinite hiatus. In 2023, tragedy struck with the passing of one of their founding members, Travis Dopp, after a three-year battle with cancer. In 2026, the remaining founding members—Mike Reed, Ben Reed, and Dan Jaquint—announced shows to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their breakout record, Dead Reckoning, and honor the 30-year anniversary of the band's founding. THE CASKET LOTTERY Feel The Teeth captures a band navigating the tension between exhaustion and revelation, pushing through the haze of disillusionment while still searching for meaning. Lyrically, Feel The Teeth reflects the weight of an era that has shifted in unexpected ways—personally, politically, and socially—capturing the complexities of trying to find clarity in a world that often feels out of control.Where their 2020 album Short Songs for End Times felt like a direct confrontation with the chaos of a fractured world, Feel The Teeth dwells in the quieter aftermath, the moments of clarity amidst the noise. The album is soaked in existential fatigue—tracks like “Nightsong” and “Diamonds” bring us to the edge of the abyss, questioning the worth of it all, while grappling with the weight of personal and collective history. As Nathan Ellis explains, “Nightsong” is a reflection of how time and trauma warp the body and mind: “I don’t sleep very well anymore… now I just have these moments between being awake and my hypnogogic hallucinations.”At its core, Feel The Teeth is about grappling with internal conflict. Songs like “Bell Penny” take on self-preservation versus empathy, while “Echolalia” offers a sobering realization of the passing of time: “A song about middle age enlightenment. Realizing that I spent so many years wanting, when all I needed were the moments I had.”Throughout the record, teeth become a symbol—of the things we try to bury, of pain that refuses to be ignored, and of the subtle violence of everyday survival. Tracks like “Snake Dreams” and “Nothing Certain” explore anxiety and transformation, challenging the listener to not just endure, but to shed old skins and confront what’s lurking underneath.

Members Sims Hardin (guitar/vocals), Allison Durham (12-string guitar/vocals), Tom Riese (bass) and Steve Darling (drums) formed in 2019, taking inspiration from a blend of influences: early British post-punk, 80’s indie and Philly living. Out of their local DIY scene, Mesh home-recorded their self-titled debut cassette, released in 2021 with Chicago’s Born Yesterday Records. Following their debut tape, the band zeroed in on writing and performing new material locally while also completing several Midwest and East Coast tours. Now via Feel It Records, Mesh release their debut full-length No Fun At All on vinyl and digital. On No Fun At All, Mesh break away from lo-fi recording habits, leaning into clarity and depth with eleven new tracks. Songs like “Hold Onto” and “Boots On The Pavement” move with urgency, accented by Durham and Hardin’s intertwined vocals and guitar work. “Atrophy” is a bright and jangly number highlighting Durham's voice and 12-string chime, while “Violent Peasant” captures a sardonic medieval critique of modern landlord/tenant inequities. No Fun At All is a playful yet mature, dynamic first LP from Mesh. Spin it til your turntable breaks. ERASER The quartet of Sonam Parikh, Pier Harrison Juliette Rando & Kat Bean are the glorious blood & guts behind Eraser. Much can be said of their paths to this apex, how this sound coalesced , but who has the time? We are here, now, to speak of Eraser's debut release, Hideout, on Siltbreeze Records.First, let me ask that you are familiar with the golden age of Rough Trade? Then if so, you would immediately connect with the sound of Eraser, which twitches & gyrates in a mashup of Pere Ubu & Kleenex. And yet there is a distinct New York-meets-Berlin No Wave tension underlying the fun. Think The Static meets Mania D. Are you in or out? TAURUS JUDGE Taurus Judge is making waves as one of Philly’s premier punk bands, following the glowing reception of their debut EP A Thing Rolled Up and their split with Gash. Their fiercely dialed-in live performances have also generated growing interest. The group—formed by Ian Norris (guitar), Cydney Berlinger (bass), Josh Merkin (drums), and now joined by second guitarist Nikhil Wadhwa- carves out a sound that mirrors the harsh Philadelphian soundscape: metal grinding, Septa Trains screeching to a halt, and a bombardment of illegal fireworks.

Having recently caught the ear of American indie label Winspear, the band is readying their debut album and offering a taste of the new material with “I Know!”, a cathartic and buoyant debut single for their new label home. Revved up with gleaming, fuzzy guitars and energetic percussion, the new track blurs jangle pop, shoegaze, and alt-rock with tongue-in-cheek precision. The group met as teenagers in the early 2020s while playing in various projects around the Adelaide music scene and bonded over their love of 90s alternative, citing Pavement and Sonic Youth as early influences. They soon started writing music together and released their debut single in late 2023 and quickly returned with their debut EP, Oxalis, in mid-2024. The EP was well received, earning nods from Rolling Stone Australia and Triple J, and the band was soon moving out of local pub gigs and into big clubs, opening for international touring artists across the whole of Australia, and recently won the Emerging Artist & Best Performance award at SXSW Sydney for their charismatic live show. There are the nods to the playfulness and vibrancy of PinkPantheress and NewJeans, though tinged with something jazzier and fluid, a willingness to freestyle that’s characteristic of a distinctly American ethos. And yet these are all disparate definitions, and calling something “everything” is only helpful when you have the piece that binds it all together. On Mott Street in New York’s Chinatown, a neighborhood that’s become a kind of home base for the many facets of their work, a vision began to crystallize. One day a few years ago, Grace Dumdaw and Lance and Matthew Tran went out busking downtown, something clicked, and Chanpan was born. A disillusionment with working in various political spaces early in their careers led to a pivot to alternative modes of expression and change. In seeking something more immediate and loose, they turned to music, freeing themselves from the expectation that every choice should have a literal meaning, even if said choices are deliberate and specific. Though the music is a means, it’s not a means to an end. SHEBAD

A fusion of chaotic impulses, insatiable desires, and a perpetual yearning, Shirt plays with the tension between one’s person and persona – the weight of your dreams crashing up against your reality. The result is something both familiar and uncanny, an anthemic tribute to this intrinsic duality built on crashing and caressing sounds.A concise record that thrusts listeners into a fevered state, Shirt’s hormonal rock songs collide with emotional ballads to create a dynamic tension that propels the listener ahead. The album speaks in broad, relatable terms while maintaining an intimate connection with its creator, blurring the line between universality and personal revelation. Shirt is as much about the climaxes as it is about the banality between life’s most memorable moments, celebrating not just the first kiss but also the anxiety intertwined with it.It is instantly recognizable as Porches’ heaviest album to date. Grungy guitars that shine with a menacing glint, drums and bass that punch you warmly in the stomach, interspersed with moments of eerie calmness to create a physical sense of tension and release that resonates with each track. The album adds an arresting body of work to Maine’s impressively dynamic catalogue. MACKEEPER Mackeeper is the duo made up of Miles Cohen and brother Nick Harwood. For most of their lives, they thought their tastes were too different to take collaboration seriously. Miles started out in rock bands, while Nick was cutting his teeth as a DJ and focused on directing and creative direction for other artists. After spending years individually honing their skills, they came together to combine their different musical influences and perspectives into a unified artist project. The ever-evolving result is a faintly surreal mix of rock with pop hooks, rap-inspired bars, and beats.Mackeeper explores strikingly honest and relatable themes throughout their debut EPRock Candy. Not surprising given that they recorded most of it on the back porch of their childhood home in Maryland. On their debut single, ‘Oh Canada’, Miles desperately sings, voice cracking, about a friend with a drinking problem, “He’s probably fine, all he had was a little red wine”. Childhood stories reevaluated through the lens of adulthood take on different meanings. In Mackeeper’s words, “Growing up is a choice, but a good one.”A six year age gap between Miles and Nick meant vastly different experiences of childhood and young adulthood. With Nick in LA and Miles in New York, music keeps them close and listening to their songs allows us to momentarily bask in that bond ourselves.‘Oh Canada’ was named one of Gorilla vs. Bear’s “Top Songs of 2025”, and Mackeeper was highlighted as an “Artist We’re Rooting For in 2026” by The Fader.

Infused with post-punk, alternative, grunge, and garage rock, the music is often described as angular and unpredictable. Following their Sub Pop debut, 2026's "Away" delivers a song-forward methodology that molds stress into a smooth, fun indie rock record, hitting a sweet spot between saccharine and melancholic. MANEKA In addition to past work in bands Speedy Ortiz and Grass is Green, Devin McKnight has long written his own music as Maneka, releasing his solo debut Is You Is in 2017. On 2022’s Dark Matters, McKnight set out to explore the full range of his experiences as a studio and touring musician, delivering a striking, unclassifiable mesh of genre influence through which McKnight deftly explored the anxieties of working as a Black man in majority white indie rock spaces. On his 2025 follow-up, bathes and listens, McKnight focuses his vision on Maneka’s musical identity, resulting in a more grounded album that still tests the extremes of McKnight’s songwriting talent. Elements of shoegaze and slowcore are prominent, but engineer Alex Farrar's exceptional production (Wednesday, Snail Mail, MJ Lenderman) makes bathes and listens cohesive, yet still distinct from any one style. Maneka opens bathes and listens with a Pinback reminiscent verse on “shallowing,” alternating with heavy choruses before exploding with alarm-call guitar in the song’s crashing coda. “shallowing’s” huge ending sets up “dimelo,” McKnight’s crunched, faceripping ode to Carmelo Anthony (specifically Hoodie Melo). “dimelo” is urgent and instantly enthralling, completely swarmed by distortion, with only faint squeals passing through its shroud.Such extremes are a fixture of McKnight’s songwriting on bathes and listens, and provide him a space to interact with his vulnerability — as on the album’s middlepoint “pony,” a softer moment of acoustic reflection that retraces McKnight’s days in high school football, picking apart what it meant to be an outsider in a world where coaches put unreasonable all-world expectations on seventeen year-olds. Singles “yung yeller” and “throwing ax” are similarly introspective, the latter describing the necessity of acceptance over denial before tumbling into a restrained, anfractuous guitar solo. The album’s ambitious denouement, “5225,” is a slowburning build around knotted guitar, steadily crescendoing to a moment of chaotic clarity that centers a boisterous, unexpected solo. “5225” momentarily steers bathes and listens away from its sonic milieu, only to plunge listeners back into the heavy, crunched distortion of the album’s closer “why i play 2k/land back,” concluding on a note that reminds us the land we call ours and pass on through legacy is all stolen. It’s declarative in a way that matches the stylistically focused nature of bathes and listens, the product of McKnight’s choice to allow his strengths to guide his songwriting, resulting in Maneka’s strongest work to date. POWERHOUSE OF THE CELL Synths, TVs, Philly.

But it won’t stay that way for long. Hailing from the coastal town of Frankston, the close-knit indie-rock four-piece have been building a loyal local following since they first formed eight years ago; fans across the band’s hometown of Melbourne and beyond have been magnetized to the group’s earnestness and ultra-sticky power-pop song structures. Now, the four close friends — lead singer/guitarist Maisie Everett, Mike Bradvica (guitar), Jimmy Droughton (bass), and Daniel "Dev" Devlin (drums) — are about to embrace a new chapter with their signing to Jack White’s Third Man Records (the first Australian release on the international label) and the unveiling of their endlessly listenable sophomore album, Again, which echoes the album’s joyous opening track (“Again and Again”) and winkingly symbolizes the band’s reintroduction to a global audience. ARMLOCK Longtime friends and collaborators, Lam (vocals and guitar) and Mitchell (guitar and keyboards) met while studying jazz at Monash University in Melbourne, eventually discovering a shared love of electronic music. After a handful of electronic and dance-oriented projects (I’lls, Couture, Kllo) Armlock came together through the band’s natural camaraderie and comfort with collaboration, and the two began incorporating guitar into the music they were making for the first time. Their debut Trust was released in 2021 and laid the groundwork for their imaginative and sonically rich sound, at times recalling Pinback’s lean alternative, Alex G’s adventurous indie, or the wave of mysterious-yet-endearing genre-bending music coming out of the UK from label's like Dean Blunt’s World Music or Vegyn’s PLZ Make It Ruins. In 2024 Armlock released their 2nd album 'Seashell Angel Lucky Charm' via Run For Cover Records. It was met with critical acclaim and introduced the group to the broader indie world. Following their latest single, 'Strobe,' the countdown now begins for their much-anticipated 3rd album.

(the name is an acronym, standing for We Intend to Cause Havoc) were one of the defining acts of Zamrock, a fusion of Western rock and rhythm & blues with traditional African sounds. They were among Zambia's most popular and influential bands in the 1970s as a wave of psychedelic and hard rock gained an audience in Africa. A landlocked nation in the South of Africa, Zambia was formerly Northern Rhodesia until gaining its independence in 1964, and as Zambia established its own national identity, local musicians began embracing the progressive influences of artists such as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and Jimi Hendrix, as well as the forward-thinking soul and funk sounds of James Brown. RON GALLO “The world is fucked, but the universe is inside you” is the common thread between all 4 albums of Ron Gallo - human, songwriter, musician and general disruptor. His debut album “HEAVY META” described by NPR as “literate electricity” was released to widespread critical acclaim and world-wide touring, and an unlikely hit single in “Young Lady, You’re Scaring Me” which has amassed over 70 million streams. He has performed at Coachella, Bonnaroo, Governors Ball, Newport Folk Festival and Pukkelpop. His latest album “checkmate” (out now on legendary Kill Rock Stars) gets back to the basics of songs for voice and guitar with attention on what is left to hang on to in a world that is seemingly crumbling before our eyes. He began an ongoing song series on social media called “7AM Songs of Resistance for the Internet” that addresses current social and political issues daily, the project has resulted in 90+ songs and reached millions worldwide. In 2023 he also published his first book titled "SOCIAL METEOR".

The latent darkness that always haunted their records is on full display upon their return. Vivian Girls are back and they haven’t forgotten what they went through.During their initial run as a band, Vivian Girls were a band of outsiders for outsiders. They existed in warehouses and house parties. The DIY spots, the small clubs. They were a band for the freaks, the malcontents. The ones who loved The Wipers as much as Burt Bacharach as much as The Shangri-Las. The ones who talked about astrology and politics and romance with equal passion. They were the band that made the punks feel like they could sing harmonies and pop fans could get in touch with their anger. Cassie Ramone’s lyrics alternated between love, loss and rage. They were heart-on-their-sleeves romantics in one breath and a spiraling explosion of feedback in the next. They were a band that we needed. Kid’s been in the business about 15-16 years now... that’s not much, even if you’re a crazy-busy All-American psycho like our Cory. Easy to run down the deets on that. And he’s been noted by no less than guitar hero John Frusciante as an engrossing, inspired guitarist. Okay, pigeonholed as guitarist. Plus, he’s been in a band steadily for the last twelve years! So...a careerist! Easy peasy. Alas, it’s complicated beyond such simple formulations — for this is a tale of two Corys — at the very least.Let’s get the roots uncovered quick: Cory’s a California Boy, come up in the 90s and aughts, an art school vet (CalArts, yo), and a musician since back in his youth. It runs in the family. He debuted back in the late aughts under the solo alias White Horses In Technicolor Everywhere. After that, he played a bit with Chad and the Meatbodies and Together Pangea before founding Wand in 2013. He’s written and lead-sung with them, rocking up six LPs with them to date. But here — on the last one, he played keyboards in all the tracks! So… not just a guitarist/singer, then. He does a bit of producing on the side too. And visual art. And of course, the reason you’re reading this right now is not because of no Wand, but rather, Cory Hanson! In addition to his steady-rolling discography with Wand, he’s been putting out solo LPs too since 2016. And those aren’t really like the Wand records at all. They have totally non-rock things like string orchestration and electronics as well as rock things like heavy guitar jams and they may be the best things he’s ever done. It’s not really up to us to say, though. Following 2021’s sophomore Cory album Pale Horse Rider and 2023’s “Cory-III” release, actually called Western Cum, he and Wand got one in — the insane Vertigo — and now Cory’s ready to release his latest solo effort, I Love People.Cory has toured the country with himself as well as Wand, and made videos and jokes and stirred the pot on social media, which may be some form of modern art (again, not for us to say). In fact, who’s to say that he won’t be writing poetry or comic books in the years to come? It’s hard to see all that he does (false equivalence: the forest) behind his dazzling musical efforts (lame comparison: the trees) but not as hard as it is to see the future. Otherwise, a lot more of us would be billionaires or America’s next top Models, etc. Unfortunately these things take real doing. Fortunately for the (at least) two Corys, the doing of it all just comes natural. As for us, we look forward to seeing and hearing etc what they come up with next.

Recorded across Georgia in various bedrooms, a barn, and a motel room with a reel-to-reel and a revolving cast of whip smart studio musicians in the first half of a dazed and confused decade, Sunshine Only Sometimes furthers Folsom’s place in the canon of long lost but eventually found independently spirited, high-flying American folk rock. LIZ COOPER The thing about finding yourself is there's always another corner to turn. The Vermont-based singer/songwriter Liz Cooper made her third album during a period of intense self-discovery and reinvention. She moved to New York for the first time, weathered a pandemic, came out to herself after falling in love with a friend, and experienced her first queer relationship and breakup, all in the course of a few years. New Day marks both a personal and a musical revolution for Cooper – a plunge into psychedelic pop depths and a fullhearted reflection of a whirlwind chapter in her life. These songs scintillate with the kind of self-confidence that only beams through after you've aimed a sharp gaze inward and realized that whatever you see will always keep darting ahead of you.

Massive Shoe is minimalist folk-pop, art rock and baroque pop, produced and largely played by Young, who moonlights in Melbourne’s beloved Cool Sounds and Good Morning and has played drums with Snowy Band and Kankawa Nagarra. It’s tempting to only compare these timeless songs to those of yesteryear, but there’s a sensibility, a turn of phrase, that feels deeply contemporary: it’s telling that Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield described “Miffed It” as her “favourite song in a VERY long time”, and Katie and MJ Lenderman have both taken Way Dynamic on tour. At the same time, Sir Elton John said that he “just cannot stop listening” to “Ibiza”. Young’s songs don’t shy away from sentiment, or equally from silliness: on any given song he might evoke a cruisy trip through hell or earnestly lament a miscommunication. WEBB & THE GOOD GOD DAMN "Good God Damn…now that’s a f#%ing band!"* principal songwriter and frontman J.D. Webb exclaimed upon hearing his songs come alive with a full ensemble. Emerging from the Delaware and Philadelphia roots scene after Webb’s time fronting the bluegrass-Americana band Apache Trails and the release of his 2023 solo EP *Royal St. Ann Burgundy*, JD Webb and The Good God Damn have quickly established themselves with a sound that is both fiery and dynamic.Their music blends gritty storytelling with soulful Americana. Together, the band crafts a darkly charged force where fiddle, rhythm, keys, and guitars all collide into a visceral wall of sound. Their latest singles, “Nightshade” and “The Champ,” highlight this evolution: While the blues-infused “Nightshade” rides a swaggering bass line leading into Tom Waits–inspired dives and wet shadowy streets, "The Champ” charges in with restless and defiant energy, a Ronnie Hawkins - style roar of survival and resilience." SUG DANIELS & THE CHOSEN FAMILY BAND Sug Daniels is a Delaware born, Philadelphia based, ukulele player, singer-songwriter, story teller, and producer and coach who is using the tools around her to capture the emotions of an era. Daniels’ work is as colorful, vulnerable, and charismatic as her personality. GABRIELLE HOPE Gabrielle Hope is not your average 20-year-old singer-songwriter. Raised in Tennessee as one of 10 kids and now based in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, Hope eschewed college due to its high cost and turned towards the world of shape note singing in search of community. Practiced for centuries, shape note singing allows for easier sight reading because the practitioners start with syllables (fa, sol, la, mi, etc.) and add in lyrics later. Particularly in Appalachia and the South, oftentimes in churches, large groups still come together to learn four-part harmonies and honor this sacred tradition. Hope, who grew up singing in church choirs, fell in love with the scene despite the fact that most of her collaborators are senior citizens. “I adore old people,”she says, recalling banjo sessions with her friend Miss Rose at a retirement home. “She can’t play anymore, but I’ll go and play for her because she still wants to hear it.

The band found its sound playing shows with local peer upstarts like Ed Hall and opening for the underground heavyweights of the time such as Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, My Bloody Valentine, White Zombie, etc. The list is long. The band signed in 1986 to influential label Homestead Records after an improbable one show tour to open for Volcano Suns and to strut their stuff for Gerard Cosloy. They then went on to record three critically acclaimed LP’s, and tour the US indie college circuit non-stop.Charting and growing fanbase notwithstanding, the band split in 1990.A re-kindled amity in 2026 finds the trio eager. The quartet had lastbeen together in London’s Heathrow airport, having just played to sold out rooms across the UK. Their trajectory had been fast—in the span of two years and starting when they were just 16,BYOP released two albums (via Thurston Moore’s Ecstatic Peace in the US and XL Recordingsin the UK), found themselves magazine cover stars, and played to ravenous crowds around theworld. But the flame might have burned too quickly and they decided to call it quits. The quartet had been living in a pressure cooker—both to put on wild performances every nightand to keep up with the wild party lifestyle expected to come with their records. “You give abunch of teenagers some money and tell them to go on tour forever? It's probably not thehealthiest thing,” guitarist Jonas Stein says. “I just felt like I could not maintain a healthy emotional status and craved stability.” Vocalist Jemina Pearl was facing her own layer of stress as the focal point of constant judgment and attention singing at the center of the stage—not to mention as the only woman in the group. “We were all under 21 and were partying our asses off all the time,” she says. “And I think people had this expectation that the Be Your Own Pet show was gonna be crazy. We needed to be that spectacle every single night, and it was a lot for us to take on.”2023 finds Be Your Own Pet not only back with a new album, but stronger than ever before. Due August 25, Mommy bolsters the group’s patented garage punk ferocity with matured songwriting, inspired musicianship, and a fervor to claim their space and define their future. “I’m not your victim, I’m my own person/ I’m not some casualty, I set myself free,” Pearl roars on lead single “Hand Grenade”, propelled forward by a burst of guitar shrapnel from Stein and a time-bomb rhythm section courtesy of Vasquez and Eatherly. Born during the group’s first day of writing, the track is both a vicious rebuke of the sexism and abuse that pervades the music world and a steely refusal to be defined by it. “That song’s one of my little babies,” Pearl says. “By telling our stories and sharing our truth, we can gain power back from a situation where we felt powerless.”

Ella Williams returns for her first full band headlining tour in 2 years!! DARI BAY Led by Burlington, Vermont-based musician Zachary James, Dari Bay is the result of a twisted home recording project gone horribly right. His eccentric lo-fi sound evolved into more grounded (if still slightly surreal) expressions by the time of Longest Day of the Year, a 2023 album that found Dari Bay’s experimental spirit folding into deceptively neutral, unassuming tunes. Double Double Whammy is pleased to be teaming up with Dari Bay, beginning with the expanded reissue of Longest Day of the Year (Originally a self-released and minimally distributed affair) in 2026."I remember working on this album and thinking it was a big vibe shift from other music I had made previously, and being excited by that,” James reflects. “After the release we were able to do some real fun scrappy touring and met a bunch of good people in the process. It hasn’t been very long since Longest Day was released but a fair amount has changed, maybe partially thanks to the album? With the reissue it’s a cool opportunity to extend the party a bit. On the album there’s a theme of staying at a party too long so it’s kinda perfect.”The more time passes, it becomes clearer that the party in question exists on a timeline of its own. There’s both ageless comfort and time-bending confusion in the sunset-colored guitar tones of album opener “Wait For You,” and in the unfussy amble of “Same Old Bumpy Road.” Hints of recognizable ‘90s alt rock achiness or twangy slowcore show up here and there, but closer listening reveals how winding and non-linear these seemingly stripped-down songs actually are. “Shy of a Nurse” wraps its heart-rending hooks in a tangle of feedback, and “Walk On Down” wanders through a lonely dust storm of jangling acoustic guitars and graceful vocal harmonies before opening up into an unexpected clearing of bells and key-changing countermelodies. This reissue includes the addition of one previously unreleased track, “Interstate.” Recorded before the sessions for LDotY, “Interstate” represents evidence of the transition from Dari Bay’s earlier, noisier material into the more fine-tuned songcraft of the album.James says, "’Interstate’ is sort of a prototype for Longest Day Of The Year, I think it was one of my first attempts at writing pop-leaning music that felt somewhat successful. And lyrically I suppose it fits the theme of the album. It’s a love song that’s also a car song." The unpredictable twisting of guitar tones, lyrical phrases, and feeling itself puts Dari Bay in a lineage of idiosyncratic songwriters that reaches from Judee Sill and Alex Chilton through to Elliott Smith and Liz Phair, right up to present day boundary-bending contemporaries. The songs invite everyone in with a friendly smile, but make no promises as to where they’ll take us after that. Throughout Longest Day of the Year, James leans into listener expectations as often as he completely disregards them, ultimately finding a captivating equilibrium between the alien and the familiar.

Featuring four widely lauded singer/songwriters who trade vocals and swap instruments on nearly every tune, the band emerged to broad critical acclaim with the release of their irreverent debut, The Very Best of Fantastic Cat, which earned the group their first national TV appearance, sold out headline dates around the US and Europe, a performance at the Sundance Film Festival, and a song in the Paramount+ series Tulsa King. Two years later, they followed it up with the similarly celebrated Now That’s What I Call Fantastic Cat, which featured an appearance from Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz, landed the band dates with Dawes and Lucius, and prompted WFUV to declare them “one of the best Americana and rock bands to tumble out of New York over the last few years.”Now, Fantastic Cat has defied the odds—and their therapists’ strong urging—to return with their third and most-likely-to-prompt-a-lawsuit-from-the-Meat-Loaf-estate album yet, Cat Out Of Hell. Produced by the band and mixed by D. James Goodwin (Goose, Kevin Morby, The Hold Steady), the collection elevates Fantastic Cat’s trademark blend of craftsmanship and chaos to new sonic heights, capturing the freewheeling, lightning in a bottle energy of their must-see live show and channeling it into a ramshackle house party full of existential searchers, desperate romantics, and barstool philosophers.Individually, each member of Fantastic Cat boasts their own impressive resume including appearances everywhere from the New York Times and the Tiny Desk to Bonnaroo and Cayamo. Formed in late 2019 by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Sam Huge and keyboardist/producer Gaelle Souflet, the duo quickly carved their own space between heritage and modernity, between the shadows of Belgium’s electronic legacy and the urgent lightof the present moment. From the very beginning, their story was charged with paradoxes. Sam came from classical arts and archaeology, Gaelle from fashion design, worlds far removed from club basements. Yet what united them was a vision: electronic music not just as entertainment, but as catharsis,as community, as resistance. When they released their debut single Keep Your Eyes Peeled in 2020, it was more than a track, it was a manifesto. A pulsating anthem of vigilance and resilience, it spread like wildfire, from underground dance floors to TikTok feeds, accumulating more than 40 million streams and echoing far beyond the city that birthed it.ULTRA SUNN’s sound draws from the DNA of the Sound of Belgium, the industrial rigor of EBM,the strangeness of New Beat, the nocturnal melancholy of Coldwave. Yet they refuse nostalgia. Instead, they distill these elements into sharp, modern anthems, carried by Sam’s commanding baritone voice and Gaelle’s hypnotic synth textures. Their music is both vulnerable and defiant, embedding themes of mental health, identity, and empowerment within luminous melodies and pounding beats. SOFT VEIN

Instead of overworked sob stories for short term gains, BAM prefers the ‘pose and get chose’ method. Since 2020 they have been drip feeding songs to an ever growing following of discerning teenagers and in-the-know retail employees, which in the fall of 2025 culminated in their first singles compilation “Every Single Time”. PAYCHEQUE Paycheque is the synth-pop duo of Allison Goldfarb and Jackson MacIntosh. Their self-titled debut album, coming in June of 2026, documents life at the margins of post-pandemic Los Angeles: limited resources, long nights, and a sense of romantic longing propelling them forward. Written and recorded together at home using hardware synthesizers, the record draws from the hook-heavy elegance of OMD and New Musik, with an eye toward timeless classic songcraft filtered through sonic experimentation. They play catchy, punk-tinged songs for fans of the Wonder Years and the Menzingers while dressing like dads on vacation. Although their songs are influenced by punk and emo, their live shows embrace a tongue-in-cheek Jimmy Buffett aesthetic, where band and audience alike dress up in Hawaiian shirts to sing along to songs about heartbreak and the miserable state of the world. HIT LIKE A GIRL Queer heartache is a unique experience, and one that Hit Like a Girl knows well. Drawing influence from pop, emo, indie and even hardcore, the band channels yearning, love and loss into intimate yet catchy music that may resonate with fans of Tigers Jaw, Future Teens, or Indigo De Souza. Hit Like a Girl is the songwriting project of Nicolle Maroulis (they/them), joined by a rotating live lineup that now features Mol White (they/them) on synth and backing vocals, Mike Davis (he/they) on drums, Nat Lopatine (they/them) on bass, and rotating members on guitar. Hit Like a Girl strives to represent trans and queer artists, and inspire them to follow their creative pursuits. In 2016 Maroulis founded No More Dysphoria, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization created with the goal of helping transgender individuals pay for major aspects of their transition. Maroulis is a masterful and prolific songwriter. In the eight years since Hit Like a Girl’s inception in 2017, Maroulis has released 4 full length records (You Make Sense (2017), What Makes Love Last (2018), Heart Racer (2021)) and one EP (Becoming (2022)). The band has performed alongside the likes of Mom Jeans, Kississippi, Origami Angel, Pool Kids, and Prince Daddy and the Hyena, and has toured with acts including John-Allison Weiss and The Iron Roses. ELEPHANT JAKE Elephant Jake is a band based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Originally based in New York, the band consists of Colin Harrison, Sal Fratto, Andrew Demarest and Carson Hyde. The band formed in late 2014, and the next year saw the release of their debut EP. The daughter of Canadian teachers, she grew up moving around - born in Belgium, relocating to Switzerland then Canada before settling in Luxembourg. This wanderlust plus her mom constantly making art helped to foster an artistic curiosity in Jana from a young age as well as a passion for guitars, which accelerated in her mid teens - fueled by hours spent on YouTube watching music videos and live performances, scrollingReddit forums, and devouring music blogs, all in search of something new.Meeting and subsequently working with drummer and producer Chris Hewett - an American living in Luxembourg - led to Jana forming Francis of Delirium. Taking 90s US college rock influences and the majesty of Sufjan Stevens as the start point, her band are now known for euphoric music that breathes life into rock from a Gen Z perspective. Stereogum summed her up perfectly when saying "There’s a bit of Pixies and Snail Mail and The Beths in there, and maybe some Lomelda and Lucy Dacus and Built To Spill. You know, that really f*cking good sh*t.”Released as Jana was finishing up high school, her first single ('Quit Fucking Around') landed in2020. A brilliant introduction, it remains a raucous moment in her live show and is one of her most enduring songs. Shortly after it came out, she signed to artist-first indie Dalliance Recordings (Gia Margaret, HighSchool) and three EPs (All Change [2020], Wading [2021], The Funhouse [2022]) and a striking debut album (Lighthouse [2024]) on and Jana has Francis of Delirium flying - her confessional and honest songwriting strike a chord while raw, powerful guitars and surging drums add real bite, folding to softer moments and harmonic payoffs when need be.

Motion paces through the liminal scenes the record’s subjects haunt, and it flows between the doubt and desirousness of Mover’s lyrics. “I cannot overlook the relentless beauty of life,” admits Scheuermann, in spite of the destructive forces humanity wields against itself: capitalism, ecological destruction, genocide, incarceration. “We’re destroying our home and our family. But we were given a home and a family in the first place, and that is incredible.” He sees movement as a way through existence and understanding, a path to learn and grow with the earth. And so Mover is about acknowledging bad things, but also believing in better things. It coalesces into a warm and well-built home—sunny in its quirky decor, soft in its honesty, strongly structured by the supportive bones of Scheuermann’s masterful songcraft. Layers bustle and build, nudge aside or disappear, come back in a differently-tinted form, like musical furniture staged into a lived-in place of refuge. This restless arrangement and rearrangement reveals deft architecture: a beautifully uncanny, suspenseful-yet-steady collection about love, community, and the precarious act of making something meaningful amid end times. KOOF IBI Koof Ibi is a multi-instrumentalist in the Philadelphia area. On any given day you could find him strolling down Broad Street straight into the Kimmel Center with brass bands like The West Philadelphia Orchestra, sharing the big stage with Japanese Breakfast, or performing in the Philadelphia Museum of Art with poet/musician Moor Mother. Koof effortlessly blends his diverse musical influences into his own distinct style. At his solo shows Koof combines live instruments, loops, samples, and effects pedals to create surprising soundscapes, re-invented covers, and sonic liberation. LIZDELISE Lizdelise is an interdisciplinary artist and performer who makes music that centers queer joy, embraces the inevitability of grief, and makes you shake your *peach emoji*.
*All events are 21+ valid ID required for entry* 7 PM – Doors8 PM – Show ROCKETSHIP Some of the best records are those that transcend the usual parameters of music to create worlds of their own. When it’s clear that what you’re listening to isn’t just a collection of that year’s songs, but a deeply thought-out, architected space where ideas clash, converse, interlock; these are the albums that end up lasting well beyond their era, changing with us, and revealing new surprises every time we return to them. One of the clearest examples of an album that crafts a strange and beautiful world not quite like any other is Rocketship’s 1996 full-length debut A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness. Even upon arrival, this was an experience unto itself, and 30 years later, these eight songs of bittersweet bliss still feel new. Slumberland is delighted to release a 30th Anniversary edition of this instant classic, making it readily available on vinyl and CD once again after years of unavailability and collector demand.Rocketship came into focus in the early ‘90s, incubating through a series of demos and early 7”s into their fully-realized album. The continuum of sounds that made up A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness were recorded at home by bandleader and vocalist/songwriter Dusty Reske with help from members of the early lineup. While they sometimes melt into one another, each of the eight songs goes somewhere a little different. The bright, jangling guitars, zooming tempo, and co-ed vocals of brilliant opener “I Love You Like the Way That I Used to Do” blurs mod energy into something dreamier, practically blueprinting the next decade of indie pop in the process. The atmospheric weather patterns of “Heather, Tell Me Why” drift between melancholic acoustic guitars and gusts of overwhelming noise. It’s baroque pop from another solar system, but it doesn’t feel jarring when the bass-forward slow down of “Let’s Go Away” follows, or bounding fits of fuzzy enthusiasm like “Carrie Cooksey” enter the picture. The songs cautiously orbit each other, all glued together by that interplanetary all-tube M2 Hammond organ, loud in the mix. This was an album of unrepentantly vulnerable melodies, unusual seventh chords, lingering ambient interludes, and soft sentiments in a time when unfriendly, self-conscious punk rock was the order of the day. Even in the considerably gentler environs of the U.S. indie pop scene of the time, these were bold moves. LIGHTHEADED Lightheaded are, simply, a great pop group. Their songs are full of melody and harmony, are bittersweet and memorable, familiar yet original. The Jersey based jangle pop softies make songs that call on the unsatisfied tunefulness of classic indie pop and college rock, as well as tapping into the idealistic daydreaming of '60s chamber pop. They signed on with Slumberland Records for the release of their proper debut album, 2024's Combustible Gems, then added UK based Skep Wax to their list of sponsors for the thoughtful, reverb-bathed follow-up, 2025's Thinking, Dreaming, Scheming.

*All events are 21+ valid ID required for entry* 7 PM – Doors8 PM – Show COLA C.O.L.A. is sort of a self-titled album. It’s an acronym for Cost of Living Adjustment, a fitting conceptual framework for the band’s third record. Why? Because C.O.L.A. considers, among other things, socialism vs. hell. It considers: rolling the dice of life. The eerie and sweet pangs that nostalgia can provoke. This is not new territory for band members Tim Darcy, Evan Cartwright, and Ben Stidworthy. It is, in Cartwright’s words “a deepening of what we’ve been doing.” C.O.L.A. is an intricate, beautiful, and sometimes strange record. It is the band’s most refined offering. A perfection of carefully honed aesthetic impulses. Cola, as a band, says Darcy is defined by its “tasteful minimalism.” A deep appreciation for making music that is romantic, subtle, and deceptively intense. C.O.L.A., however, is the band’s most maximalist work to date. This is a little tongue and cheek (“We were so worried,” says Cartwright, “About all the songs on this record being too different”). In practice, this maximalism means that a song like “Hedgesitting,” has both live drums and a sample drum loop. “Hedgesitting,” is a gorgeous, lush song. It’s like a deconstructed, chopped & screwed b-side from the Cure’s Disintegration. It’s also a little indebted to Sarah Records. “When you were young,” Darcy sings at the song’s start, “you came to make it.” C.O.L.A., like everything written by the band, is inherently collaborative. The band writes everything separately, then comes together and works in the studio. Look again to “Hedgesetting,” to see this in action, which started out with chords that Darcy had sent, then the band expanded it together, with Stidworthy remixing it right before heading to the studio. This division of labor works intuitively. It is a part of the band’s DNA to say, take an arrangement Stidworthy wrote, and then have Darcy and Cartwright build upon it. Take “Favoured Over the Ride,” as an example. “I wanted to create a dusky, melancholy palette for Tim to write lyrics for,” says Stidworthy. The song starts with a lonely, dreamy guitar riff. Then there’s a crisp line of bass and it all comes into focus: “What’s on the ceiling that’s caught your gaze?” sings Darcy. It’s a moment of clarity on a record that is interested abstraction. C.O.L.A. is full of these clarifying moments: where a whole swirl of feelings become so clear that it almost hurts a little bit. PARKiNG

For acclaimed harpist and songwriter Mikaela Davis’ new album, Graceland Way (due TK via Kill Rock Stars), that singularity was a hillside home in Chevy Chase Canyon, a spot nestled in Los Angeles County where time slowed, the world fell away, and Davis could create from a sense of warmth and deep attentiveness. The group emerged from the ashes of critically acclaimed indie rock outfit Little Green Cars, moving toward a bolder, more cinematic and emotionally charged sound that blends evocative lyrics with adventurous production. Their music traverses the tension between introspection and ambition, pairing O’Rourke’s distinctive, expressive vocals with genre-defying arrangements that draw comparisons to synth-infused art-pop and emotionally honest songwriting. Soda Blonde’s debut single “Swimming Through the Night” immediately marked a stylistic shift for the members, establishing the band’s commitment to cinematic hooks and atmospheric grooves. The band’s first studio album Small Talk (2021) showcased polished, self-produced songwriting and was nominated for the Choice Music Prize. Their sophomore record Dream Big (2023) expanded their sonic palette and solidified their reputation as one of Ireland’s most compelling contemporary acts. In 2025, Soda Blonde released the People Pleaser EP and completed an ambitious live orchestral project with the National Symphony Orchestra at Dublin’s National Concert Hall, captured in both a concert film and a live album. Known for their emotionally charged live performances, bold visuals and genre-spanning sound, Soda Blonde continue to push beyond conventional pop boundaries while maintaining a deeply personal connection to their lyrics and visual storytelling.

The tracks, in French and English, feature sixties guitars, aneighties “synth orgy,” powerful drum machines, analog delays, and a deliberately raw energy. His influences are evident throughout the album: Velvet Underground, The Stranglers, Motörhead,The Cure, The Stray Cats, JJ Cale, the Nuggets compilations, but also French-speaking artists such as Gainsbourg, Les Rita Mitsouko, Métal Urbain, Plastic Bertrand, and Marc Charlan. The result is afast-paced, edgy album (with tempos of up to 240 bpm) that is sometimes radical, designed “forthose whose hearts are bleeding and who want to fight.”Co-produced with Renaud Letang (Feist, Manu Chao, Peaches) at the legendary Ferber studio, thisalbum marks a true return to Marlon's roots and powerfully heralds the return of rock to the currentmusic scene.
