Emerging from Dublin's vibrant independent music scene, the six-piece first came together through informal pub sessions in 2023 , united by a shared love of traditional Irish song. What began as musicians from dif ferent bands getting together to perform traditional standards has evolved into original compositions that seamlessly blends folk, experimental textures and raw, poetic storytelling. Their songs draw equally from the centuries-old Irish traditional canon and the restless energy of today's alternative music, combining harmonium, mandolin, tin whistle, percussion, guitar and electronics with powerful vocals and striking arrangements. The result is a sound that has earned widespread acclaim, with The Guardian describing the band as "an unexpected and beguiling alloy of purity , poison and potency ." Much of Madra Salach's reputation has been built on their rousing live performances. The summer of 2025 saw the band debut on the Irish festival circuit, finding fans through word-of-mouth. With every performance drew a bigger audience, captivated by their ability to move effortlessly between intimate, spellbinding moments and exhilarating crescendos. This year has seen them continue their rapid ascent with sold-out headline tours, major festival appearances across the UK & Europe and a growing international following.

A band that effortlessly captures the essence of indie rock’s golden era. With a sound that echoes the equally prolific and fellow British-Invasion-disciples Guided by Voices, they weave a tapestry of melodies that are both nostalgic and refreshingly original. Imagine the raw, lo-fi charm of GBV meeting the atmospheric melancholy of The Cure, all while channelling the storytelling of The Go-Betweens. SIMON JOYNER & THE GHOSTS Simon Joyner is a renowned American singer-songwriter from Omaha, Nebraska who has released albums on independent labels since the early 1990s. His earliest records were influential signposts of the Lo-Fi and home-taping movement which also produced contemporaries like Smog, Lou Barlow, Will Oldham and the Mountain Goats. He is now widely regarded as one of the great songwriters of our time. Gillian Welch calls him her favorite poet and Kevin Morby and Conor Oberst both claim him as a major influence with Bright Eyes also recording covers of Joyner’s songs “Burn Rubber” and “Double Joe.” Despite often being described as a songwriter’s songwriter, Joyner has soared under the radar for over thirty years. His storytelling has been compared to Leonard Cohen, Townes Van Zandt, Lou Reed, and Bob Dylan. Over the course of 19 albums his career is hard to pin down as he’s followed a mercurial path, never content to make the same record twice. DAVID NANCE David Nance is a musician based in Omaha, Nebraska and David Nance and the Mowed Sound is his latest group and recording project. Led by Nance on vocals, guitar and whatever instrument needs playing, with partners in crime Kevin Donahue on drums, James Schroeder on guitar and Derrick Higgins and Sam Lipsett on bass.Nance grew up in Grand Island, Nebraska, played in the marching band and discovered punk and garage rock before moving to Omaha and joining the mid-2000 garage punk scene happening there with the band the Forbidden Tigers. Several years spent in Los Angeles with his wife Anna led to a period of songwriting and home recording before they decided to move back to Omaha where he began finding his musical identity and started recording his songs with like-minded friends. What developed was a heavy burned-out rock vibe that still somehow fits in the punk universe. Nance also played with Omaha legend Simon Joyner and has continued to record and self-release tapes and cdrs throughout the past decade.

John is also a member of (Hooters drummer) David Uosikkinen’s In The Pocket. As the lead singer and songwriter for the Caulfields, he released two albums on A&M Records in the mid-90’s, had a modern rock radio hit in the US and Australia (“Devil’s Diary”), had song placements in major films and television shows through a publishing deal with Warner-Chappell, and toured nationally and internationally. The Caulfields went on permanent hiatus in 2025, playing two sold-out farewell concerts - at WXPN Free At Noon in Philadelphia, and at the Queen in their home state of Delaware.Faye’s latest album (his 16th studio release) “The Long Game” dropped on vinyl in December of 2024 in partnership Hooters drummer David Uosikkinen’s ITP Entertainment. The single “Asking For A Friend” was added into regular rotation at Philadelphia Non-Com radio powerhouse WXPN and cracked the top 60 on the CDX Triple A singles chart in a national radio campaign. SUG DANIELS Sug Daniels is a Delaware born, Philadelphia based, singer-songwriter and producer who is using the tools around her to capture the emotions of an era. Daniels’ work is as colorful, vulnerable, and charismatic as her personality. She thoughtfully combines elements of folk, R&B, and soul alternatives to create personal and tender music interlaced with messages of truth and positive change. ROBERTA FACEPLANT Roberta Faceplant is a honky tonk hurricane from Philadelphia. Safely in the middle of a Venn diagram where kitsch meets bitch, the five-piece Outlaw Americana band has been called “a cowpunk miracle” and been compared to “Southern Culture on the Skids fronted by Laura Bell Bundy.” It’s Country, but you can hear the city.Raucous guitars, a driving rhythm section, and the raw, powerful, and soulful vocals of frontwoman Katie Feeney make Roberta Faceplant a five-fingered fist of Country grit. Lyrically, Feeney and the band pull no punches, tackling current events with tongue in cheek humor and rage. Peppered with Bob Seger-style working-man themes and a dose of Southern Rock, the band still holds tight to the true spirit of country music - three chords and the truth. with special guest appearances by: IKE, Erin Fox, Annalise Curtin

LUCY's captivating live performance has earned him a cult following on the DIY circuit, playing shows in basements and warehouses across the country. His music is experimental and raw – at times even abrasive. His GarageBand-based production has never swayed far from the sample packs and synth sounds he started writing music with 14 years ago. Brown is supported by bassist Cole Billings and drummer Zach Cunningham, who share the songwriting goal of curating abstract elements of different music styles to create a distinct composition with each album and song, rather than fitting into a particular genre. Flooding is interested in what music can allow us to feel and things it can force us to confront. Softness and harshness coexist in everything - and there's freedom in allowing ourselves to be both at the same time. bloodsports Taking over the sweaty New York venues and curbside congregations that came to be synonymous with the name, bloodsports is set to release their long awaited debut LP 'Anything Can Be A Hammer' via brand new New York label Good English Records on October 17th. Bloodsports has become an undeniable force amidst their latest line up, where members Sam Murphy (guitar/vox), Jeremy Mock (Guitar), Liv Eriksen (bass/vox) and Scott Hale (drums) find solace in the capitulation of sonic strain; where angular sedition blends with economical melodies that lighten the load of the self-destruction that these songs embrace. But as bold as their landscapes have been prior, 'Anything Can Be A Hammer' finds the band embracing a more dynamic approach, maturing in their techniques as these songs brim over with subtle fixations – balancing a steady pace of experimentation and curiosity that linger amongst the rhythmic blows and befuddling depths that the band confidently explores. Fragile, yet abundant, bloodsports leans into that patience that plays to our own interior designs, where Murphy’s lyricism is a notion of both what we know and what we think we know, as it all comes to the fore when our obsessions are at large. It’s an album that’s got blood in its veins and a finger on the pulse. E. ATENCIO

His low end would rise through her bedroom floor like some wayward cat while she lay above it with folk records, finding harmonies that were new and hers alone. Two musics in one room. L ushness as past and premonition. She found folk on her own, somewhere between the cast recording of The Sound of Music and Simon and Garfunkel, while everyone around her called it sleepy music. She did not mind being the only one. The solitude let her fall for harmony first, before words, before anything else, and harmony is still the thing she reaches for. LUTALO Lutalo’s highly visceral folk goes electric on The Academy, the Vermont multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer’s debut LP. On The Academy, Lutalo embraces a literary approach to self-referential songwriting, turning memories from their adolescence into impressionistic folk and rock compositions that are equal parts searing and vulnerable. With their unique baritone and finesse for lyrical world building, Lutalo cuts to the bone–while only just beginning to reveal the depth of their artistry and vision.

From the bare-bones title of their sixth record—SIX—to the writing approach—their first two LPs were recorded entirely on GarageBand—the creative process for the group is strikingly similar to the early stages of their career. While the new album marks a return to their original recording method, there are a few notable changes. Instead of working solo on the demos, frontman John Barrett and the band (Jim Barrett, guitar; Ian Kirkpatrick, drums) convened for several sessions in Barrett’s home studio in Nashville to bring the songs to life. Manning the faders was producer Jeremy Ferguson (Cage the Elephant, White Reaper), who then hosted the band for ten snowy days of fine tuning at his Battle Tapes studio. The result is a scuzzy blast of their signature sound, with influences ranging from The Stooges to ZZ Top and very much aided by Ferguson’s deft engineering touch. If SIX sounds like a return to form, the band proves they still have a few tricks in their pockets and things up their sleeves.

The pair blend new wave, emo, and punk with a modern pop sensibility, contrasting upbeat rhythms against sullen, emotionally evocative lyrics. Korine’s latest album “A Flame In The Dark” released in March 2025 on Born Losers Records showcases the band’s ability to blur the past and present seamlessly, combining all their influences into a sound that is uniquely theirs. ZANIAS Zanias has been haunting underground clubs around the world with her instantly recognisable voice and uniquely ethereal electronic productions since 2011, with the spawning of her first project Linea Aspera in London. As a solo artist, based in Berlin since 2013, she explores a more alien and spherical palette of sounds, fusing her coldwave past with the experimental pop influences of Fever Ray, Enya, early Grimes and Caroline Polachek. With her latest album ‘Cataclysm’, Zanias makes a poignant call for revolution of both politics and consciousness in the face of humanity’s existential threats of war and climate collapse, conveyed through her signature of deeply personal and poetic lyricism. Every song inhabits its own aesthetic universe and rhythm, featuring elemental fusions of post-industrial, witchhouse, trance, breakbeats and hyperpop. As with all her previous albums, Zanias carves her own genre from the solidified ashes of her influences. In 2025 Zanias created a whole new live set with London-based drummer Dream Dilate Decay. Industrial polyrhythms, tribal intensity and a vocal performance akin to a banshee characterise the sonic ritual conjured by the duo, striking a delicate balance of ethereal fragility and iron strength. This new incarnation promises to be her most captivating era yet.

Backed by a dive bar hue, NYC-based frontman John Ross blends the existential with the celestial, gathering pieces of passer-bys, fictional figures, and historical idiosyncrasies to make sense of what’s in front of him. It’s on their sixth album, Still Coming Down, that Ross cements the voice he’s been steadily honing over the years. The album pokes fun at the listlessness of consumerism, coping through detachment and finding the punchline of it all. Ross is a consummate of curiosity, becoming a narrator of a warped and unpredictable America, morphing everyday mundanity into a cinematic, sepia-toned flipbook. Propelled by the witty and ravenous wisdom of 2024’s Dulling the Horns, Ross’ poetic form has only gained traction, as jocular, heartfelt stories pour with a clever and distinctive ease.NFL bros cruise alongside big guys in grocery stores with even bigger tattoos; ghost stories and references from the cinematic haze of movies like Heat, Moneyball and The Town buzz in the background while Ross also points to Waterworld and The Perfect Storm––heroes who wander, looking for answers at the end of the world. After battling––and beating––cancer, and now becoming a father for the first time, Ross’ outlook has hairpin-bent its way into a simpler significance, where creating music is less about the bigger picture, and more about being present in the moment. It’s a genuine rock record, leaning into the dynamics of open-armed arrangements, inviting huge chords, harmonicas, horns, keys and pedal steel to morph and blend into a cathartic swirl. Ross looked back to the grunge bands he was obsessed with as a teen, and found that it sparked a deeper presence with his own voice, both in lyrics and performance. He endeavoured to create an album that is as fun to play live as it is for the audience to witness, harkening back to the enthusiasm and motivation he felt growing up.“Strangely, I feel like I've found my voice on this record,” he says. HIDING PLACES Shortly after forming, the members of the New York-via-North Carolina indie rock band Hiding Places noticed a secret power. During their live sets, no matter the loudness, scuzziness, or mayhem of the venues they played, their tender, atmospheric sound became the focus of the room, quieting their surroundings as audiences became hypnotized by their steady, rhythmic interplay and bittersweet vocal melodies. From these experiences, the band developed a credo of close listening. If one member plays too fast, they won’t try to nudge down the tempo; if someone’s volume rises above the rest, they adapt their levels accordingly. The goal, always, is togetherness—to maintain a unified whole, always in sync. This philosophy is part of what makes the quartet’s cozily intricate and hard-hitting Keeled Scales debut, The Secret to Good Living, feel like a bold introduction as much as a well-worn mixtape, passed down from a trusted friend.

Growing up in a musical household, where her mom’s side hosted kitchen fiddle parties, Bobbitt was surrounded by music from the beginning. At just 16 years old, she’d amassed a large Vine following, performing covers and originals to an audience of 400,000 strong, leading to Shorty Award nominations and being crowned by Buzzfeed as one of “13 Amazing Singers You Should Follow On Vine.” She now looks back at that time with nuance, feeling both reinforced in her abilities by the response and, at the same time, overwhelmed by the onslaught of opinions—opinions on her career, appearance, voice, image—at an age when she was still figuring out what those things meant for herself.A dozen years later, after studying Jazz and Vocal Pedagogy at the renowned Humber College, learning the rules of the road, and navigating the music industry from her home base in Toronto, Bobbitt arrives at Swimming Towards the Sand with an unwavering sense of purpose. It’s an album that revisits her roots with the clarity of perspective, the wisdom of experience, and the lessons of resilience that can only come with time. It’s called Your Perfect Real Life, because, well, there’s a lot going right these days, right? Arriving August 21, 2026 via ATO Records, Your Perfect Real Life is prismatic, angular, jumpy, and eccentric. It’s sure to inundate your ears, corporeal form, and spiritual body with equal parts unadulterated bliss and realist catharsis, or, in other words, as much good as you can reasonably feel these days. Set in a world of chaos where the news seems to be perpetually recounting stories of planes falling out of the sky, urban wildfires, the uncanny nature of a southern snowfall, and schlepping ads that feel plucked from a sci-fi movie, Your Perfect Real Life makes an earnest case for embracing life’s relentless unpredictability. Animated by the band’s baroque take on the angular harmonies of grunge, the record’s eleven tracks sprawl and simmer, enlivened by the Improvement Movement’s novel employment of dynamics, sticky melodies, four-part harmony, and a treasure trove of experimental instruments. If you’ve ever found yourself enraptured by the lush harmonies of Fleet Foxes, the theatrics of early Genesis tracks, or the candid intimacy of Art Garfunkel, Improvement Movement may be for you. THE POINT. Despite their influences ranging across the world, The Point. are a band that could only have started in Austin. Fusing psychedelia, Saharan guitar music, and cumbia with jam-band sensibilities, the trio creates a laid-back vibe that’s more than the sum of its parts. Ida made their debut with 1994’s luminous 'Tales of Brave Ida', released on Tsunami frontwoman Jenny Toomey’s hugely influential Simple Machines label. The project soon grew into a full-fledged band with the addition of Littleton’s brother Michael Littleton on drums and bassist Karla Schickele, followed by 1996’s 'I Know About You' and 1997’s 'Ten Small Paces', both of which earned critical acclaim for their subtle arrangements, rich harmonies, and stunning songcraft.“Ida is a four-piece band intent on sounding smaller and more private, the better to contemplate questions like ''Am I still the one you wanted me to be?''...Even when Ida allows itself to use a rock beat or guitar feedback, its songs seem hushed. The Minnesota-raised, Nashville-based songwriter has always felt like she was searching for herself, trying on various versions but never really feeling the euphoric ease that comes with finding comfort in one’s own skin.Through experimentation in spirituality and empowerment, devoting time and energy into her craft and learning to lean into a playful, carefree outlook, Wedl is experiencing the delicious life moments with a renewed clarity. On her self-titled album––and debut for ANTI––she shakes off the prying eyes of expectation, leaving behind the anxiety of forming yourself for others and welcoming in the delight of finally being exactly who you are.Wedl is already a prolific artist, releasing solo music since 2012, and co-founding the queercore outfit Dazey & The Scouts in 2015. The band, she says, taught her about “complete vulnerability and collaboration,” and their surprise viral success on social media fuelled the next stepping stone in Wedl’s career.“It’s shown me the humanity that live music can create,” she says of the unexpected attention on the band.“It’s taught me so much about songwriting as collective care.”After a string of solo singles in 2024, Wedl’s latest LP gathers those foundation-cracking moments that make up a life, and sees her fully immersed in the lessons they create. SUB*T Every musician starts off as a fan. Enthusiasm, fixation, denying all self-consciousness in pursuit of your own thrills…these are the values that propel ordinary people deep into fandom. For Grace Bennett and Jade Alcantara, that fervor also propelled their virtual 2010’s Twitter friendship into a band called Sub*T. What started as a cross-country online bond over stan culture—Bennett fighting for the honor of One Direction, Alcantara waving the banner of The 1975—led first to an Instagram follow, then to the mosh pit (where they met IRL several times a year), and eventually to a life-changing decision. In 2019 and with zero prior musical experience, they each bought guitars and taught themselves how to play, and Sub*T was born. While now a fully New York-based band, their sound is better defined by this origin story. Since meeting, Bennett and Alcantara have allowed themselves to be guided not by the pull of their surroundings and the pressure to be at the cutting edge, but by the force that first united them as teenagers on the internet: fandom. And on their debut LP How My Own Voice Sounds, they come into their own, riding the wave of their love for classic alt-rock, grunge, and indie rock and arriving at a place that’s decidedly their own.

Their 2000 sophomore album Dead Reckoning earned international acclaim and a 5-star review from Kerrang, who praised its "unrivaled depth of emotion." The band toured relentlessly, sharing stages with Hot Water Music, Cursive, Sparta, Cave In, and many others. In 2003, they released The River Bed on Lookout! Records before breaking up later that year. They reunited in 2006 and officially returned in 2009, recording their fourth album Fell & Found in 2011 with producer J Robbins. AV Club praised them as "one of the best purveyors of this sound." The band continued to play shows and festivals through 2016, eventually going on an indefinite hiatus. In 2023, tragedy struck with the passing of one of their founding members, Travis Dopp, after a three-year battle with cancer. In 2026, the remaining founding members—Mike Reed, Ben Reed, and Dan Jaquint—announced shows to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their breakout record, Dead Reckoning, and honor the 30-year anniversary of the band's founding. THE CASKET LOTTERY Feel The Teeth captures a band navigating the tension between exhaustion and revelation, pushing through the haze of disillusionment while still searching for meaning. Lyrically, Feel The Teeth reflects the weight of an era that has shifted in unexpected ways—personally, politically, and socially—capturing the complexities of trying to find clarity in a world that often feels out of control.Where their 2020 album Short Songs for End Times felt like a direct confrontation with the chaos of a fractured world, Feel The Teeth dwells in the quieter aftermath, the moments of clarity amidst the noise. The album is soaked in existential fatigue—tracks like “Nightsong” and “Diamonds” bring us to the edge of the abyss, questioning the worth of it all, while grappling with the weight of personal and collective history. As Nathan Ellis explains, “Nightsong” is a reflection of how time and trauma warp the body and mind: “I don’t sleep very well anymore… now I just have these moments between being awake and my hypnogogic hallucinations.”At its core, Feel The Teeth is about grappling with internal conflict. Songs like “Bell Penny” take on self-preservation versus empathy, while “Echolalia” offers a sobering realization of the passing of time: “A song about middle age enlightenment. Realizing that I spent so many years wanting, when all I needed were the moments I had.”Throughout the record, teeth become a symbol—of the things we try to bury, of pain that refuses to be ignored, and of the subtle violence of everyday survival. Tracks like “Snake Dreams” and “Nothing Certain” explore anxiety and transformation, challenging the listener to not just endure, but to shed old skins and confront what’s lurking underneath.

Having recently caught the ear of American indie label Winspear, the band is readying their debut album and offering a taste of the new material with “I Know!”, a cathartic and buoyant debut single for their new label home. Revved up with gleaming, fuzzy guitars and energetic percussion, the new track blurs jangle pop, shoegaze, and alt-rock with tongue-in-cheek precision. The group met as teenagers in the early 2020s while playing in various projects around the Adelaide music scene and bonded over their love of 90s alternative, citing Pavement and Sonic Youth as early influences. They soon started writing music together and released their debut single in late 2023 and quickly returned with their debut EP, Oxalis, in mid-2024. The EP was well received, earning nods from Rolling Stone Australia and Triple J, and the band was soon moving out of local pub gigs and into big clubs, opening for international touring artists across the whole of Australia, and recently won the Emerging Artist & Best Performance award at SXSW Sydney for their charismatic live show. There are the nods to the playfulness and vibrancy of PinkPantheress and NewJeans, though tinged with something jazzier and fluid, a willingness to freestyle that’s characteristic of a distinctly American ethos. And yet these are all disparate definitions, and calling something “everything” is only helpful when you have the piece that binds it all together. On Mott Street in New York’s Chinatown, a neighborhood that’s become a kind of home base for the many facets of their work, a vision began to crystallize. One day a few years ago, Grace Dumdaw and Lance and Matthew Tran went out busking downtown, something clicked, and Chanpan was born. A disillusionment with working in various political spaces early in their careers led to a pivot to alternative modes of expression and change. In seeking something more immediate and loose, they turned to music, freeing themselves from the expectation that every choice should have a literal meaning, even if said choices are deliberate and specific. Though the music is a means, it’s not a means to an end. SHEBAD

(the name is an acronym, standing for We Intend to Cause Havoc) were one of the defining acts of Zamrock, a fusion of Western rock and rhythm & blues with traditional African sounds. They were among Zambia's most popular and influential bands in the 1970s as a wave of psychedelic and hard rock gained an audience in Africa. A landlocked nation in the South of Africa, Zambia was formerly Northern Rhodesia until gaining its independence in 1964, and as Zambia established its own national identity, local musicians began embracing the progressive influences of artists such as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and Jimi Hendrix, as well as the forward-thinking soul and funk sounds of James Brown. RON GALLO “The world is fucked, but the universe is inside you” is the common thread between all 4 albums of Ron Gallo - human, songwriter, musician and general disruptor. His debut album “HEAVY META” described by NPR as “literate electricity” was released to widespread critical acclaim and world-wide touring, and an unlikely hit single in “Young Lady, You’re Scaring Me” which has amassed over 70 million streams. He has performed at Coachella, Bonnaroo, Governors Ball, Newport Folk Festival and Pukkelpop. His latest album “checkmate” (out now on legendary Kill Rock Stars) gets back to the basics of songs for voice and guitar with attention on what is left to hang on to in a world that is seemingly crumbling before our eyes. He began an ongoing song series on social media called “7AM Songs of Resistance for the Internet” that addresses current social and political issues daily, the project has resulted in 90+ songs and reached millions worldwide. In 2023 he also published his first book titled "SOCIAL METEOR".

Recorded across Georgia in various bedrooms, a barn, and a motel room with a reel-to-reel and a revolving cast of whip smart studio musicians in the first half of a dazed and confused decade, Sunshine Only Sometimes furthers Folsom’s place in the canon of long lost but eventually found independently spirited, high-flying American folk rock. LIZ COOPER The thing about finding yourself is there's always another corner to turn. The Vermont-based singer/songwriter Liz Cooper made her third album during a period of intense self-discovery and reinvention. She moved to New York for the first time, weathered a pandemic, came out to herself after falling in love with a friend, and experienced her first queer relationship and breakup, all in the course of a few years. New Day marks both a personal and a musical revolution for Cooper – a plunge into psychedelic pop depths and a fullhearted reflection of a whirlwind chapter in her life. These songs scintillate with the kind of self-confidence that only beams through after you've aimed a sharp gaze inward and realized that whatever you see will always keep darting ahead of you.

Massive Shoe is minimalist folk-pop, art rock and baroque pop, produced and largely played by Young, who moonlights in Melbourne’s beloved Cool Sounds and Good Morning and has played drums with Snowy Band and Kankawa Nagarra. It’s tempting to only compare these timeless songs to those of yesteryear, but there’s a sensibility, a turn of phrase, that feels deeply contemporary: it’s telling that Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield described “Miffed It” as her “favourite song in a VERY long time”, and Katie and MJ Lenderman have both taken Way Dynamic on tour. At the same time, Sir Elton John said that he “just cannot stop listening” to “Ibiza”. Young’s songs don’t shy away from sentiment, or equally from silliness: on any given song he might evoke a cruisy trip through hell or earnestly lament a miscommunication. GABRIELLE HOPE Gabrielle Hope is not your average 20-year-old singer-songwriter. Raised in Tennessee as one of 10 kids and now based in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, Hope eschewed college due to its high cost and turned towards the world of shape note singing in search of community. Practiced for centuries, shape note singing allows for easier sight reading because the practitioners start with syllables (fa, sol, la, mi, etc.) and add in lyrics later. Particularly in Appalachia and the South, oftentimes in churches, large groups still come together to learn four-part harmonies and honor this sacred tradition. Hope, who grew up singing in church choirs, fell in love with the scene despite the fact that most of her collaborators are senior citizens. “I adore old people,”she says, recalling banjo sessions with her friend Miss Rose at a retirement home. “She can’t play anymore, but I’ll go and play for her because she still wants to hear it.

The quartet had lastbeen together in London’s Heathrow airport, having just played to sold out rooms across the UK. Their trajectory had been fast—in the span of two years and starting when they were just 16,BYOP released two albums (via Thurston Moore’s Ecstatic Peace in the US and XL Recordingsin the UK), found themselves magazine cover stars, and played to ravenous crowds around theworld. But the flame might have burned too quickly and they decided to call it quits. The quartet had been living in a pressure cooker—both to put on wild performances every nightand to keep up with the wild party lifestyle expected to come with their records. “You give abunch of teenagers some money and tell them to go on tour forever? It's probably not thehealthiest thing,” guitarist Jonas Stein says. “I just felt like I could not maintain a healthy emotional status and craved stability.” Vocalist Jemina Pearl was facing her own layer of stress as the focal point of constant judgment and attention singing at the center of the stage—not to mention as the only woman in the group. “We were all under 21 and were partying our asses off all the time,” she says. “And I think people had this expectation that the Be Your Own Pet show was gonna be crazy. We needed to be that spectacle every single night, and it was a lot for us to take on.”2023 finds Be Your Own Pet not only back with a new album, but stronger than ever before. Due August 25, Mommy bolsters the group’s patented garage punk ferocity with matured songwriting, inspired musicianship, and a fervor to claim their space and define their future. “I’m not your victim, I’m my own person/ I’m not some casualty, I set myself free,” Pearl roars on lead single “Hand Grenade”, propelled forward by a burst of guitar shrapnel from Stein and a time-bomb rhythm section courtesy of Vasquez and Eatherly. Born during the group’s first day of writing, the track is both a vicious rebuke of the sexism and abuse that pervades the music world and a steely refusal to be defined by it. “That song’s one of my little babies,” Pearl says. “By telling our stories and sharing our truth, we can gain power back from a situation where we felt powerless.” FARMER'S WIFE There is an intersection of dark fairy tales and anguished love, technological nightmares and horror show romance. Brooding squarely within that crossroads sits Austin’s Farmer’s Wife. Pulling from 90’s dirge rock, 60’s psych and occasionally 80’s nonchalance, their songs are reminiscent of classic early records from Smashing Pumpkins, Slowdive, and Hole as well as the pained imagery of 2000’s emo pioneers. Songs as powerful as they are frail, as ethereal as they are stark. DICE exists to respond to that idea.Comprising of Ben Hodge, Tom King, Regan Beazley, and Sam Barrett-Lennard, the Perth-based four-piece makes music for authentic connection. For movement, for feeling, and for being present. These are songs that push you to run outside and be a kid again, to fall in love, dance in your kitchen, take a spontaneous trip with mates, or lie in the grass doing nothing at all. This mission has resonated far beyond their Western Australian roots. Since the 2024 release of their ARIA-charting debut album Midnight Zoo, DICE has transformed from local indie-rock darlings into a high-velocity global export. Following the critical acclaim of their debut, the band spent 2025 cementing their status as a premier live act, turning the pressures of early adulthood into bright, liberating anthems for sold-out crowds in London, New York, Toronto, Amsterdam, and Sydney.Having maintained a position on triple j’s Most Played Artists list for three consecutive years, DICE continues to build momentum with an unwavering life’s too short philosophy. The band entered 2026 with the release of ‘COOLER’, a track that quickly became a cornerstone of their evolution.Premiering on triple j and soaring straight into high rotation, the single—produced by Joe Chiccarelli (The Strokes, The White Stripes), was hailed by critics as a sophisticated refinement of their sound. Now, the momentum shifts toward their next chapter. On May 15, DICE return with ‘Loose Change’ ,a high-octane anthem for the risk-takers. Born from a 2023 voice note and refined in LA during a writing session with G Flip and Aidan Hogg, the track was brought to life at Hollywood’s legendary EastWest Studios. While the band continues to explore sophisticated new sonic DNA,‘LooseChange’ leans into the raw, sun-drenched energy of fan-favorites like ‘Double Espresso’ and ‘Stop Sign’. It is a euphoric reminder that taking the leap is always worth the view, a sentiment the band lived firsthand while navigating the grit required to reach this global milestone. FAI LACI “What can we do to get people off their fucking phones?” exclaims founder and frontman Luke Faillaci, explaining the mission behind Fai Laci, the band he founded and fronts. “And how can we give them something real and make them have a great time? That’s the most important thing we can do: Just communicate with our followers and let them know they fucking rule!” The Boston quintet — which also includes guitarists Anthony Cervone and Michael “Goldie” Goldblatt, bassist Cal Hamandi, and drummer Zack Putnam — have already amassed a grassroots fanbase thanks to their energetic, wildly cathartic live shows around the Northeast. They’ve seen a community coalesce around their inspired rock songs, with a quarter-million monthly followers and millions of streams despite, until recently, having no label, no publicist, and no manager. They’re proof that good tunes can still find their audience, and they’re working hard to bring others into the fold. “We’ve always been making music for ourselves, and we’re going to hold ourselves to that, because we know other people will want to hear it, too.”

Ella Williams returns for her first full band headlining tour in 2 years!! DARI BAY Led by Burlington, Vermont-based musician Zachary James, Dari Bay is the result of a twisted home recording project gone horribly right. His eccentric lo-fi sound evolved into more grounded (if still slightly surreal) expressions by the time of Longest Day of the Year, a 2023 album that found Dari Bay’s experimental spirit folding into deceptively neutral, unassuming tunes. Double Double Whammy is pleased to be teaming up with Dari Bay, beginning with the expanded reissue of Longest Day of the Year (Originally a self-released and minimally distributed affair) in 2026."I remember working on this album and thinking it was a big vibe shift from other music I had made previously, and being excited by that,” James reflects. “After the release we were able to do some real fun scrappy touring and met a bunch of good people in the process. It hasn’t been very long since Longest Day was released but a fair amount has changed, maybe partially thanks to the album? With the reissue it’s a cool opportunity to extend the party a bit. On the album there’s a theme of staying at a party too long so it’s kinda perfect.”The more time passes, it becomes clearer that the party in question exists on a timeline of its own. There’s both ageless comfort and time-bending confusion in the sunset-colored guitar tones of album opener “Wait For You,” and in the unfussy amble of “Same Old Bumpy Road.” Hints of recognizable ‘90s alt rock achiness or twangy slowcore show up here and there, but closer listening reveals how winding and non-linear these seemingly stripped-down songs actually are. “Shy of a Nurse” wraps its heart-rending hooks in a tangle of feedback, and “Walk On Down” wanders through a lonely dust storm of jangling acoustic guitars and graceful vocal harmonies before opening up into an unexpected clearing of bells and key-changing countermelodies. This reissue includes the addition of one previously unreleased track, “Interstate.” Recorded before the sessions for LDotY, “Interstate” represents evidence of the transition from Dari Bay’s earlier, noisier material into the more fine-tuned songcraft of the album.James says, "’Interstate’ is sort of a prototype for Longest Day Of The Year, I think it was one of my first attempts at writing pop-leaning music that felt somewhat successful. And lyrically I suppose it fits the theme of the album. It’s a love song that’s also a car song." The unpredictable twisting of guitar tones, lyrical phrases, and feeling itself puts Dari Bay in a lineage of idiosyncratic songwriters that reaches from Judee Sill and Alex Chilton through to Elliott Smith and Liz Phair, right up to present day boundary-bending contemporaries. The songs invite everyone in with a friendly smile, but make no promises as to where they’ll take us after that. Throughout Longest Day of the Year, James leans into listener expectations as often as he completely disregards them, ultimately finding a captivating equilibrium between the alien and the familiar.

Featuring four widely lauded singer/songwriters who trade vocals and swap instruments on nearly every tune, the band emerged to broad critical acclaim with the release of their irreverent debut, The Very Best of Fantastic Cat, which earned the group their first national TV appearance, sold out headline dates around the US and Europe, a performance at the Sundance Film Festival, and a song in the Paramount+ series Tulsa King. Two years later, they followed it up with the similarly celebrated Now That’s What I Call Fantastic Cat, which featured an appearance from Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz, landed the band dates with Dawes and Lucius, and prompted WFUV to declare them “one of the best Americana and rock bands to tumble out of New York over the last few years.”Now, Fantastic Cat has defied the odds—and their therapists’ strong urging—to return with their third and most-likely-to-prompt-a-lawsuit-from-the-Meat-Loaf-estate album yet, Cat Out Of Hell. Produced by the band and mixed by D. James Goodwin (Goose, Kevin Morby, The Hold Steady), the collection elevates Fantastic Cat’s trademark blend of craftsmanship and chaos to new sonic heights, capturing the freewheeling, lightning in a bottle energy of their must-see live show and channeling it into a ramshackle house party full of existential searchers, desperate romantics, and barstool philosophers.Individually, each member of Fantastic Cat boasts their own impressive resume including appearances everywhere from the New York Times and the Tiny Desk to Bonnaroo and Cayamo. NPR said Anthony D’Amato “sings and writes in the tradition of Bruce Springsteen or Josh Ritter.” Pitchfork called Brian Dunne’s new album “wise and poetic,” declaring that “every song sounds like his life depends on it.” Paste proclaimed Don DiLego's latest record a "stunner,” and Rolling Stone hailed Mike Montali’s band, Hollis Brown, as “the soundtrack for a late-night drive through the American heartland."Together, they form a four-headed songwriting Hydra (yes, we know the Hydra had nine heads, but this one has four, so just deal with it) that combines the lush harmonies of CSNY, the playful wit of The Traveling Wilburys, and the relentless interpersonal strife of the Eagles.

Formed in late 2019 by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Sam Huge and keyboardist/producer Gaelle Souflet, the duo quickly carved their own space between heritage and modernity, between the shadows of Belgium’s electronic legacy and the urgent lightof the present moment. From the very beginning, their story was charged with paradoxes. Sam came from classical arts and archaeology, Gaelle from fashion design, worlds far removed from club basements. Yet what united them was a vision: electronic music not just as entertainment, but as catharsis,as community, as resistance. When they released their debut single Keep Your Eyes Peeled in 2020, it was more than a track, it was a manifesto. A pulsating anthem of vigilance and resilience, it spread like wildfire, from underground dance floors to TikTok feeds, accumulating more than 40 million streams and echoing far beyond the city that birthed it.ULTRA SUNN’s sound draws from the DNA of the Sound of Belgium, the industrial rigor of EBM,the strangeness of New Beat, the nocturnal melancholy of Coldwave. Yet they refuse nostalgia. Instead, they distill these elements into sharp, modern anthems, carried by Sam’s commanding baritone voice and Gaelle’s hypnotic synth textures. Their music is both vulnerable and defiant, embedding themes of mental health, identity, and empowerment within luminous melodies and pounding beats. SOFT VEIN

The daughter of Canadian teachers, she grew up moving around - born in Belgium, relocating to Switzerland then Canada before settling in Luxembourg. This wanderlust plus her mom constantly making art helped to foster an artistic curiosity in Jana from a young age as well as a passion for guitars, which accelerated in her mid teens - fueled by hours spent on YouTube watching music videos and live performances, scrollingReddit forums, and devouring music blogs, all in search of something new.Meeting and subsequently working with drummer and producer Chris Hewett - an American living in Luxembourg - led to Jana forming Francis of Delirium. Taking 90s US college rock influences and the majesty of Sufjan Stevens as the start point, her band are now known for euphoric music that breathes life into rock from a Gen Z perspective. Stereogum summed her up perfectly when saying "There’s a bit of Pixies and Snail Mail and The Beths in there, and maybe some Lomelda and Lucy Dacus and Built To Spill. You know, that really f*cking good sh*t.”Released as Jana was finishing up high school, her first single ('Quit Fucking Around') landed in2020. A brilliant introduction, it remains a raucous moment in her live show and is one of her most enduring songs. Shortly after it came out, she signed to artist-first indie Dalliance Recordings (Gia Margaret, HighSchool) and three EPs (All Change [2020], Wading [2021], The Funhouse [2022]) and a striking debut album (Lighthouse [2024]) on and Jana has Francis of Delirium flying - her confessional and honest songwriting strike a chord while raw, powerful guitars and surging drums add real bite, folding to softer moments and harmonic payoffs when need be.

When it’s clear that what you’re listening to isn’t just a collection of that year’s songs, but a deeply thought-out, architected space where ideas clash, converse, interlock; these are the albums that end up lasting well beyond their era, changing with us, and revealing new surprises every time we return to them. One of the clearest examples of an album that crafts a strange and beautiful world not quite like any other is Rocketship’s 1996 full-length debut A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness. Even upon arrival, this was an experience unto itself, and 30 years later, these eight songs of bittersweet bliss still feel new. Slumberland is delighted to release a 30th Anniversary edition of this instant classic, making it readily available on vinyl and CD once again after years of unavailability and collector demand.Rocketship came into focus in the early ‘90s, incubating through a series of demos and early 7”s into their fully-realized album. The continuum of sounds that made up A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness were recorded at home by bandleader and vocalist/songwriter Dusty Reske with help from members of the early lineup. While they sometimes melt into one another, each of the eight songs goes somewhere a little different. The bright, jangling guitars, zooming tempo, and co-ed vocals of brilliant opener “I Love You Like the Way That I Used to Do” blurs mod energy into something dreamier, practically blueprinting the next decade of indie pop in the process. The atmospheric weather patterns of “Heather, Tell Me Why” drift between melancholic acoustic guitars and gusts of overwhelming noise. It’s baroque pop from another solar system, but it doesn’t feel jarring when the bass-forward slow down of “Let’s Go Away” follows, or bounding fits of fuzzy enthusiasm like “Carrie Cooksey” enter the picture. The songs cautiously orbit each other, all glued together by that interplanetary all-tube M2 Hammond organ, loud in the mix. This was an album of unrepentantly vulnerable melodies, unusual seventh chords, lingering ambient interludes, and soft sentiments in a time when unfriendly, self-conscious punk rock was the order of the day. Even in the considerably gentler environs of the U.S. indie pop scene of the time, these were bold moves. LIGHTHEADED Lightheaded are, simply, a great pop group. Their songs are full of melody and harmony, are bittersweet and memorable, familiar yet original. The Jersey based jangle pop softies make songs that call on the unsatisfied tunefulness of classic indie pop and college rock, as well as tapping into the idealistic daydreaming of '60s chamber pop. They signed on with Slumberland Records for the release of their proper debut album, 2024's Combustible Gems, then added UK based Skep Wax to their list of sponsors for the thoughtful, reverb-bathed follow-up, 2025's Thinking, Dreaming, Scheming.
