GRIPPER
Philadelphia hard-rock champions Gripper today announce their debut album and share new single “Miss Behave” and “Other Bastard”. These two blown-out, explosive new tracks showcase the gritty energy that has swiftly made the five-piece a fixture on their local scene including support slots with Sheer Mag, Mdou Moctar, The Briefs, and The Tubs. They have also caught the ear of Philly tastemaker label Stupid Bag Records, who will release the Gripper debut album Another Night Of Fun On Me on February 9th, 2027. “Miss Behave” serves up a power-pop-meets-garage-punk reflection on burning the candle at both ends while “Other Bastard” is a ragged throwback boogie that sets unwitting self destruction in its sights. Originally spread between the Jersey shore and New England, Gripper was born when longtime DIY friends themselves now all living in the city of brotherly love. Having bonded when crossing paths on the DIY touring scene, the dream team that is Gripper was formed from a shared desire to harness the energy and urgency of some shared formative rock influences of their childhood. Eagle-eared listeners may hear in these Gripper recordings the glam boldness of T.Rex and Slade, the seedy swagger of AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and Judas Priest, and the oblivion-courting of The Stooges.
