Castle Rat is a fantasy doom metal band hailing from NYC led by The Rat Queen on guitar and vocals. On her mission to expand and defend “The Realm” from those who seek to destroy it, The Rat Queen is joined by The Count on lead guitar, The Plague Doctor on bass, and The All-Seeing Druid on drums. Together they face the relentless wrath of their arch nemesis: Death, Herself — The Rat Reaperess. The Realm of Castle Rat exists for those who crave swords & sorcery; stoner & doom; Frazetta & Sabbath; battle-babes & beasts.

MORGUL BLADE

Philadelphia’s Morgul Blade brandish power chords and swords like a swarm of Nazgûl from Lord Of The Rings. Their recent album Heav Metal Wraiths (No Remorse Records, 2024) delivers righteous headbanging anthems with speed and steel. Tracks like “Beneath The Black Sails” pound with arena rock attitude reminiscent of Dokken and the Scorpions, delivered with gruff snarls. 

PSYCHIC WARS

Psychic Wars is a heavy, fuzz-drenched 5 piece post punk unit comprised of members in both south Jersey and Philadelphia. Featuring heavy, dissonant and spacey guitars alongside a vocal approach that combines Ellei Johndro and Jon Hodges’ dueling harmonies. March 2024 saw their self titled debut cassette release that channeled modern psych rock, punk and heavy doom with a hint of shoegaze. With the recent release of their current EP “Takers” their sound has become more focused and pointed like a poison tipped dagger. The perfect soundtrack to a dungeon crawl through a West Philly basement.
