MARGAUX

Matt Scheuermann is destined to be restless. To be a part of the music has been a constant search and evolutionary process for the Philly songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, lending his talents to various projects over the years. But under his own songwriting banner Lowercase Roses, Scheuermann has conjured grandiose and meloncholy worlds that rival bedroom architects such as Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse or Jason Lytle of Grandaddy. Delivering world-weary lyrics often focusing on love in the face of societal collapse with his pure and piercing tenor, Scheuermann has built an impenetrable discography ever since he donned the Lowercase Roses moniker back in 2015. With his 2022’s Ordinary Terror, his long history of homespun experimentations and predernatural knack for molding sorrowful soul-excevations into towering pop epics. It’s an album that has only added to Scheuermann’s lore as one of Philadelphia’s most beloved songwriters and a best-kept-secret that is begging to be discovered. Currently, Scheuermann is working on a follow-up to Ordinary Terror that will see him collaborating with a wide-variety of the city’s most well-respected musicians and producers that will likely be released sometime in 2025. Until it arrives, Scheuermann will be playing the role of the troubadour, bringing dispatches from the expansive worlds he has created from stage to stage.
