THE PHILADELPHIA TOM PETTY APPRECIATION BAND

If there was ever a record worth celebrating twice, it’s Wildflowers.

Just as they did in 2019 to mark the 25th anniversary of the record that firmly established Tom Petty as one of the great American songwriters, the Philadelphia Tom Petty Appreciation Band will plug in again to celebrate the album’s 30th anniversary by performing Wildflowers live, in its entirety, on Friday, Nov. 8, at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia.

The band will play a Wildflowers set, followed by a second set of choice tracks from Petty’s deep, enduring catalog. 2024 also marks the 25th anniversary of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ Echo album — a record many true heads recognize as one of the best, if not the best, of Petty’s career — so expect a few songs from that record.

The Philadelphia Tom Petty Appreciation Band features musicians who’ve played with many of your favorite bands of the last 20 years (The War on Drugs, Dr. Dog, Strand of Oaks, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Low Cut Connie, Pernice Brothers, Son Little). Pat Finnerty (of What Makes This Song Stink?, Live Band Karaoke, and Pat Finnerty and the Full Band fame) fronts the operation.
